was over an iced chai latte

that was our last hug

your very last smile.

if i would have known

i would have held you

a little tighter

a little longer

i would have told you

that the past 7 years knowing you

was full of amazing joy

horrific heartache

always staying true to your truths

never letting an opportunity go by

to telI each other

i love you.

i could not rescue you

save you from all that happened

years before we met

cleaning out your apartment

the photos of your beautiful children

your journal and art books

proudly displayed in your apartment.
