Shame on me

Shame on me for believing the person who told me my mom’s depression was my fault. my fault…at age 10.

Shame on me for watching the clock on so many nights…you would come home 2 days later.

Shame on me for the days I listened to my sister call my white whore trash.

Shame on me for my years at work with accolades and abuse. Most leave. 14 years later I am still here.

Shame on me for not being skinny or smart.

Shame on me for the sadness I feel instead of you.
